Struck in 1993 (but dated 1991-1995) this historic silver dollar commemorates the 50th anniversary of U.S. involvement in World War II. Designed by Thomas D. Rogers Sr., its obverse depicts an American soldier storming the beach at Normandy on D-Day. The reverse bears a quote from Dwight D. Eisenhower's pre-invasion message to the troops and the sleeve insignia of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force.
