U.S. Innovation Dollar Coins: A Brief History

Innovation dollars will be released based on the order that each state ratified the constitution or joined the Union. Issues for D.C. and territories will be released after that. Composed of an outer layer manganese brass over a copper core, they share a similar color to other recent dollar coins like Presidential Dollars and Native American Dollars. All three series also feature edge inscriptions with the mint mark and date.
