Description
This commemorative coin and stamp set from the U.S. Mint contains a 1996 National Community Service silver dollar coin in proof condition, along with a 3-cent Augustus Saint-Gaudens stamp issued in 1940. Saint-Gaudens was the first sculptor to completely design an American coin. The design of the commemorative dollar is based on a rare medal designed by Saint-Gaudens for the Womens Auxiliary of the Massachusetts Civil Service, of which only two were ever struck. Comes with the original government packaging, including a certificate of authenticity, and a booklet about Saint-Gaudens.
