A genuine 1863 Indian Head Cent Penny Coin, graded and certified MS 61 by ANACS

 

Struck from 1859-1864, copper-nickel Indian Head cents depict Liberty with an Indian headdress and not an actual Native American. The reverse of first-year coins featured a laurel wreath, which changed in 1860 to an oak wreath and small shield.
