Description

A genuine 1837 Plain Cord, Small Letters Coronet Head Copper Large Cent Penny Coin, graded and certified EF 40 by ANACS

Struck over 180 years ago, this copper Coronet Head large cent - also called the Matron Head large cent - is 50% larger than today's cents. It depicts a more serious Liberty, with a diadem inscribed LIBERTY and long hair in a bun held by plain cords. The reverse shows ONE CENT surrounded by a laurel wreath and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
