A genuine AD 52-59 Antonius Felix Bronze Prutah Coin, Governors of Judaea, under Claudius, AD 54, Palm Branches / Inscription, graded and certified VF Very Fine by NGC. Contains 2.32 g Bronze. Strike: 3/5, Surface: 4/5
Antonius Felix, an ex-slave, became Procurator of Rome after Agrippa I died. Felix's connections to Roman emperor Claudius' household helped him secure his post as Procurator. The obverse of this coin, dated (Year 14) A.D. 54, bears the inscription IOY/AIAAI/PIIIIII/NA (Julia Agrippina - wife of Claudius) within a wreath. Agrippina probably helped Felix obtain his position. The reverse displays two crossed palms and the date.
