Description

A genuine 217-218 AD Diadumenian Bronze AE20 Ancient Roman Provincial Coin, in G/VG Good / Very Good Condition

Diadumenian was a mere child of 8 when his father Macrinus became emperor and he became Caesar. In May 218 during a revolt supporting Elagabalus, Macrinus raised his son to co-emperor, one of the youngest to receive the title. When Macrinus' legion deserted him a month later, he attempted to send 9-year-old Diadumenian to Parthia for safety, but the young heir was intercepted and killed. In 218, rebels defeated Macrinus and killed him.
