Description

A genuine 1838 Coronet Head Copper Large Cent Penny Coin, in XF EF Extremely Fine Condition

Struck over 180 years ago, this copper Coronet Head large cent - also called the Matron Head large cent - is 50% larger than today's cents. It depicts a more serious Liberty, with a diadem inscribed LIBERTY and long hair in a bun held by plain cords. The reverse shows ONE CENT surrounded by a laurel wreath and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
