A genuine 1827 Coronet Head Large Cent Penny Coin, in F Fine Condition
Struck over 180 years ago, this copper Coronet Head large cent – also called the Matron Head large cent – is 50% larger than today’s cents. It depicts a more serious Liberty, with a diadem inscribed LIBERTY and long hair in a bun held by plain cords. The reverse shows ONE CENT surrounded by a laurel wreath and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
