The obverse features the U.S. Coast Guard seal, an anchor, and the words "U.S. COAST GUARD" and "HONOR-RESPECT-DEVOTION TO DUTY". The reverse displays an anchor, a shield with stars and stripes, with the motto "SEMPER PARATUS" (always ready), along with the phrases "INTEGRITY IS OUR STANDARD", "WE VALUE OUR DIVERSE WORKFORCE", "WE ARE PROFESSIONALS", and "WE EXIST TO SERVE AND WE SERVE WITH PRIDE". A fitting tribute to past and present members of the U.S. Coast Guard.
