This historic silver dollar commemorates the 50th anniversary of United Service Organizations, founded in 1941 to help meet America's armed services' social, recreational, welfare and spiritual needs. The obverse by Robert Lamb shows a banner inscribed USO with IN GOD WE TRUST and 50TH ANNIVERSARY above and LIBERTY and 1991 below. The reverse by John Mercanti depicts an eagle, with ribbon inscribed USO, atop the earth with 11 stars beneath.
