A genuine 1937 Battle Of Antietam Anniversary Commemorative Silver Half Dollar Coin, graded and certified MS 67 by NGC. Contains 90% Silver

 

This 90% silver commemorative half dollar was struck to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Antietam. The obverse bears two left-facing portraits. The first is of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. The second is of Union General George B. McClellan, who stopped Lee's march into Maryland. The reverse depicts Burnside Bridge - where Maj. General Ambrose Burnside and his Union troops won a hard-fought battle to cross Antietam Creek.
