Description

A genuine 425-455 AD Valentinian III, Western Roman Empire Nummus Coin, graded and certified VF by NGC. Copper composition. Valentinian III was exiled in Constantinople until he became emperor of the Western Empire at age 6. During his reign, the Visigoths' power grew and the Vandals moved into North Africa, hampering the empire's grain supply. Also, the empire experienced invasions by Attila the Hun. Fearing the growing power of Aetius, his Master of Soldiers, Valentinian murdered him in A.D. 454. He was murdered less than a year later by Aetius' bodyguards.
