Description
A genuine 317-324 AD Licinius II, Roman Empire, Reduced Follis Ancient Roman Imperial Coin, in XF EF Extremely Fine Condition. Bronze composition
During a special ceremony in A.D. 317, the co-emperors of the Roman Empire, Constantine the Great and Licinius I, made their sons Caesars. Although still a child, it was thought Licinius II would inherit his father's portion of the empire. Yet, from A.D. 321 on, the situation between the two Augustii steadily deteriorated until war broke out in A.D. 324. Both Liciniuses lost their titles and later were executed.
