This 2026 American Silver Eagle Christmas Eve Colorized Coin is struck in 1 oz of .999 fine silver, and combines the timeless beauty of the iconic American Silver Eagle with a full-color holiday scene. The obverse features the classic Walking Liberty design, enhanced with a colorized backdrop depicting Santa's sleigh soaring across a starlit sky on snowy Christmas Eve night, complete with a glowing full moon. Snow-covered rooftops, a brilliantly lit Christmas tree, and the festive inscription 'Merry Christmas' complete the design.
Minted since 1986, these coins were updated in 2021 with a refreshed obverse (heads) and a completely redesigned reverse (tails) to mark the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Coin Program. The obverse features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag. The designers initials 'AW' were also added to the obverse of the coin. The redesigned reverse depicts an eagle as it prepares to land, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest.
