The obverse, designed by Don Everhart, features a portrait of an older Franklin as a elder statesman, with his facsimile signature reproduced in an oval cartouche below. The reverse, designed by Donna Weaver, reproduces the design of the 1776 Continental Currency dollar featuring a sun dial and the motto "Mind Your Business".
