This 5 coin set contains each issue in the 2004-2006 Westward Journey Jefferson Nickel series, all in uncirculated condition and enhanced with a colorized finish. This series commemorates the legendary Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Louisiana Purchase, showcasing multiple one-year-only reverse designs, including the Keelboat, the Peace Medal Handshake, and the American Bison. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson's portrait, with both the classic profile and the forward-facing designs represented.
Following the Westward Journey series, the U.S. Mint restored the traditional Monticello reverse. However, a new, forward-facing portrait by Jamie Franki graced the obverse - along with the word LIBERTY in script based on Jefferson's handwriting.
