Description
This unofficial 1982 Uncirculated Coin Set contains 15 coins released that year in uncirculated condition, including both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints issues of the nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar. It also includes all seven Lincoln cent varieties issued in 1982. The composition of the Lincoln cent was changed from 95% copper to copper-plated zinc due to the increasing price of copper. A design change partway through the year resulted in a total of seven different combinations of date size, mint mark, and composition for the year. No official Uncirculated Coin sets were produced by the U.S. Mint in 1982 and 1983. Private issues such as these were created by various 3rd parties to help fill in gaps in coin collections.
