A genuine 1966 SMS Roosevelt Clad Dime Coin, in Uncirculated Mint State Condition. From the U.S. Mint Special Mint Set. During 1965-1968 the U.S. Mint did not produce Proof Sets, instead producing Special Mint Sets or Special Strike coins that were struck in specially prepared planchets. The coins looked much better than circulation strike coins but not as sharp as proof struck coins.

 

This dime honors America's 32nd and only four-term president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Designed by John R. Sinnock, the obverse depicts Roosevelt's portrait. The reverse shows a torch between olive and oak branches, symbolizing peace, strength and independence.
