This gold Indian Head quarter eagle is one of America's most unique coins. Designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, the designs are sunken into the surface. The obverse depicts a Native American chief surrounded by 13 stars, with LIBERTY above and the date below. The reverse shows an eagle with olive branch perched on a bundle of arrows, encircled by the inscriptions E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and 2 1/2 DOLLARS.
